Lola

It is with great joy I announce the arrival of Lola, my first grandchild. Lola is the fortunate daughter of my 24 year old son, also named Jesse, and his bride Cheryl. Lola was born around 7:00 pm est, February 7, in Queens, N.Y.
I regret only that I am in Minneapolis while she snoozes in a Queens nursery tonight.
She weighed in at 8lb 4oz, and apparently let everyone know she had arrived.
Call me biased, but I think she looks like the 15th Dalai Lama.

I’m in queens and I just shouted “Hey, Lola! Happy Birthday!” out the window if it’s any consolation for not being here.

Congratulations to you, Jesse. What wonderful news!

Congratulations, Jesse! She's beautiful.

Being a grandparent is one of the most joyous experiences in life.

Welcome to this crazy, often dysfunctional but fascinating world, Lola.

Jesse, there's absolutely no need to stop the joyous journey you're on or apologize. Lay it on us, bro.

I'm reminded of some powerful lyrics at this time:

Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets ...

Congratulations, Jesse. I'm on the verge of becoming a first time grandfather as well. My granddaughter, Brooke, will be born sometime between the end of February and early March.

Tell me, did Jesse and Cheryl know the gender of their baby and did they name Lola before she was born? I guess nowadays new parents, for whatever reason, want to know all the details as soon as possible.

Hiya, Lola. Welcome to Earth. It's kinda messy right now, but I sincerely hope you'll grow up into a better world.

Dave -- That's what I told my horses when I delivered them, first thing. "Welcome to the world. It ain't a pretty place but I promise it will be a good life for you." That's the first words each of them heard.

Mazel tov, Jesse! Grandkids are the best. You can play with them, spoil them and hand them back to your kids when they become unbearable or wet and stinky. And later on, when they become older, you can point out to their parents all the things they are doing wrong.

Our seven are a source of continuous joy.

Lola is a great name. What she wants, she gets.

Remember Lola Albright? I've had the hots for her for 50 years.
