The search function won't search by phrase; it will search only word by word. If any of the words is too "common," such as "jazz," there will be thousands of hits, and the search function will return the "fatal error" message. So try to pick one "uncommon" word in the thread title to search for. (Or pick an "uncommon" word from a post in the thread and search by "Show Posts" instead of "Show Threads"; when you get the result, you'll be able to see which thread it is and access that thread.)
If you give me a specific example of a thread title, I can probably suggest an effective way to search for it (or others).
In general, though,
--If you really know the exact title of a thread, you can sort the threads in the relevant forum alphabetically by title (forward or backward), then look for the thread. You can do that sort by clicking on the "Thread" header in the list/menu of threads ("Threads in Forum: ______").
--Or use Advanced Search (which is accessed through a drop-down menu under Search at the very top of every page or through other "simple" Search menus). That will give you more parameters to search by, such as who started the thread.
--If all else fails, do a Google search for
site:speakeasy.jazzcorner.com
and the thread title.
