Well, I'm diggin' reading Bill Barton's playlists. Nice show, Bill! I'll have to try to tune in via the internet sometime. So, fwiw, I decided to join in and present my own. The show's been running for 15 years now, beginning the week after Sun Ra's passing. I still remember doing my first show and learning about Ra's death only days later, then presenting a four hour tribute, at that time a Saturday morning program, 9am-1pm!
Currently airing Tuesdays 7-11pm EST at 89.3fm out of Dearborn/Detroit, MI, and
http://whfr.fm on the internet. The program which had long been a three hour presentation of jazz, mostly in the avant-garde, now runs four hours to incorporate the music of the modern classical and other forms of music once heard on my "Delusions & Furies" program which was recently cut.
