Goodspeak's most quotely quotables.

Assuming many of you don't frequent the sports threads, we decided that we should share some of the golden quotes that our good friend Goodspeak bestows upon us lucky few.

Feel free to add to this whenever you like. I'm hoping we can get Ma to make this a sticky.

So far today we have three submissions from us MLB thread folk:

Borat's fave:

"My water bottle is empty." - Goodz explaining why he was bringing the conversation to a close and going to bed. It's the hourglass of the future. My own take on this was that he was saying he had to go potty but was too embarrassed to come right out with it. Either way, it was an ominous announcement that signified to the rest of us that party time had come to a close.

Surfer's fave:

"No soap". - Goodz letting jmj know that he had just been trumped by the Master. The Master simply wasn't having it last night, as per usual. I'm assuming this is simply his take on "no dice", though with Goodz it can be very dangerous to make such assumptions. There could possibly be a bigger story between Goodz and his soap, but likely one we really shouldn't be exposed to.

My fave:

"Shit stinks no matter how you portray it". - Goodz expressing his disgust with Borat and all of his evil "Aebly" ways. I think. It could have been just a random statement since many of them tend to make appearances in Goodz post.

Feel free to offer up your favorite Goodyism!

I've had my share of frustration with Tim over the years, but I think this thread is poor sportsmanship. It's one thing to respond in context, but to make an entire thread about another bbs participant doesn't seem fair.

Are you kidding me? He looooooooves this. He absolutely relishes any attention, good or bad, positive or negative.

He'll act the victim, but make no mistake, this is exactly what he wants. A whole thread devoted to him. Its like he's famous.

This is like a giant Valentine from JC posters to Tim.

What a person wants is not for others to decide.

You and I always disagree on these things, Pete. And I think Surfer has it right.

Besides, when I brought up the idea, this was his response.

http://speakeasy.jazzcorner.com/spea...postcount=1077

So I went with it based upon that.

If he finds it distasteful he can ask Lois to delete it. No biggie.

Why be a dick about it? If the man decides he doesn't like this thread, it will be deleted.

My favorite Goodyisms of recent vintage (yes, he's been doing this for a looong time) come from the thread where crawjo was going to Oxford. Goody was like, Oxford? The Earl of Oxford wrote Shakespeare's plays! Which, be that as it may (improbable but who cares), since the earls of Oxford were not residents of Oxford, it is a little like saying, "You're going to London? Oh man, I love White Fang and The Call of the Wild!"

We need to start a fund to pay for Goody to travel abroad.

Twist, twist, twist.

A lot of angst, little substance.

Does it matter what I say?

Yes or no, you do what you want to do anyway. So why bother asking?

Tim once wrote a manifesto telling me off. This was back in 2000, I think. It was almost as good as graypencil's telling me off. There was a reference to me having a small penis. It was awesome.

Now that I think of it - who hasn't told me off?

Unless, of course, you're a crack dealer.

Hot off the presses...

From the "What is your favorite sandwich?" thread:

"I mis-stroked the keyboard..."

Sounds vaguely kinky to me, Tim.
