Lee Morgan - Taru: 40 years old

LEE MORGAN

Fourty years ago, the 15th of February 1968, Lee Morgan made this great album, although it didn't become a million seller hit like his The Sidewinder.

Nice lineup. I've never heard that one. Perhaps you can start a single thread for album birthdays.

It would have been hard for "Taru" to be a hit in its time. It was in the can for 12 years and only saw the light of day with a 1980 release.

It's a good recording, but not a great one.

I just picked up a used copy of this a couple weeks ago. I'm with the above post by Meatman: good but not great.
