H8 BOP

I was driving around today, admittedly I wasn't listening to music, but I passed a guy in a car, can't tell you the make or the model, he had a grey beard, looked to be about sixty or so, maybe older, and his license plate read "H8 BOP."

Wha? Hate bop?

Now even my dad, in his 80s, doesn't like bop. Thinks it destroyed swing. But he doesn't hate it.

Anyway, I passed this guy, and I vocalized "Now's the Time" by Parker, I can do that, I'm not as musically idiotic as I seem.

Hate bop! Awww.

Now I'm spinning some Dial records.

It's really sad how nobody ever uses the term be-bop correctly. Like in that Hooters song, "And We Danced." She was a be-bop baby on a hard day's night. Really? So she was into Diz and Monk? How cool. Yeah, that's my kind of girl. Cool.

You'll never see a plate that reads H8 HUTRZ.

To make matters worse, I'm driving Gungadar home from soccer practice and there's a Jaguar with a plate that reads 5MOOTH.

Round these parts we call Southern Illinois women White Plates due to their licentious license plates (and inevitable tramp stamps). Hope this helps?
