...My wife and I were married.

Well...June 4th actually, but we had a graduation to attend [our Son's] and things got in the way, so I posted this after the fact.

Honor us by posting the number of years you all have been married.

21 here.

Congratulations, though. Seriously. I don't think a lot of people truly appreciate what a wonderful, rewarding, and nearly impossible gift it is to be in such a long and loving relationship.

And it ain't easy either...

I agree.

My wife should get an award for putting up with the likes of me....each and every day.

But TBH, it was easy being married to Mrs. GoodSpeak. She has the Grace of the Ages and the Patience of Job.

In two weeks I plan to "kidnap" her to the Coast for three nights and re-propose to her at her favorite restaurant there.

That's really cool.

I'm sure she'll be in a very "thankful" mood after that gem.

Do you plan to have another ceremony?

And BTW, we should get an award for putting up with them as well. It does run both ways.

Marriage is easy in so many ways, yet equally difficult in others. It takes an extreme amount of dedication and patience from both spouses.

Look at the divorce rate if you don't believe me.

Nope.

Not her style.

However, after I get down on one knee to propose, I will be giving her another diamond ring, though.

Well now, 42 years here. Suzy and I are gluttons for punishment, I reckon. (just jesting)

July 14 is 18 for us. It's only because he's mellow, flexible, tough, and forgiving. I am *hell* to live with. I can hardly live with myself.

Well, on one hand I'm sorry to hear that. But, I'm glad you were able to find the right one for you in the long run. And congrats to both Fiendy and Cookie!!

42 years?! Good lord!! That's Thorneclan territory IIRC!

That is really fucking incredible!

Oh, and Cookie, Kelly finds me much easier to live with than I do, too.

First of all, congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Jazzfiend, too.

You are correct, Scott. Patti and I celebrated our 43rd anniversary on March 7th of this year. We've been together for over 45 years.

We renewed our vows on the occasion of our daughter's wedding (our 25th) with Patti's father having officiated at both ceremonies. At that time, I "challenged" our daughter and son-in-law to have a joint celebration on our 50th, their 25th. Seven years and counting, now.

Wednesday will mark 13 years for me and mrs. jmj. She refers to them as four of the best years of her life.

I think she's joking.

Sheesh!

I left the note as instructed, but I neglected to say "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Goodspeak!!!!" My goodness---my bad! I apologize.

That's wonderful, Tim. May you have many more and each one happier than the one before.

I read recently that it's been on a downtrend for the last 30 years.

Julie and I will reach 20 next week.

What I've read, Gordon, is that the downtrend is within the upper income brackets. But that's a different thread.

Bronwyn's managed to put up with my ass for seven times longer than anyone else but one has and almost three times longer than the one exception.

I've been legally married twice but I don't count the first one because we were so young -- 18 and 17 -- and were forced into it under threat of criminal charges by her folks.

Bronwyn and I will probably get hitched one of these days. The subject comes up with some frequency.

27 years total for us...half the number of years you and your Lovely Betrothed have been together. That is just too cool

Yeah, it has worked out and for the better.

My first entanglement ended after only two years...officially. In actuality, it was over in less than six months. I don't think either of us were ready to be married. Besides, fidelity wasn't her strongest, uh...attribute. If you catch my drift.

Hey Goodie & Fatha T, thanks for the kind words. Ron, U got me beat by a year. I wonder if I'll make it to 43, it's touch & go (doncha know?) Nah, we're too damn lazy to head out for greener pastures at this point. Actually, Suzy's a prize. Anyone who put up with the likes of me all these years has gotta be pretty special.

in every family there is the single heterosexual eccentric uncle who never got married, not because he didn't want to, but because it just didn't happen, so he has a nice dog instead. i just never thought it was gonna be me!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. no tacky bestiality references desired.

Congrats Goodie!

I've been married for about 28 years....two different women but..

I am the anomaly in the fact that I had a funky marriage found another gal and DID leave my wife for her.

They say it won't last but Nance and I have been together for 21 years now. Two aggressive, bawdy personalities.

My daughter Madison was having a team dinner with her new college coach and he laughingly said,"Madison, I don't think I've ever heard a young girl talk like you."

Madison replied," You should hear my fuckin Mother".

I was so proud........
