Unapologetic napping

I nap almost every day. Swear by it. Usually after I run, shower, and eat, and before I get ready for the night's dance. When I'm calling in the schools, I may take two naps a day.

I realize that if I worked a 9-5 job, it would probably be hard to find the opportunity to nap. Which would be too bad, because it feels natural to me.

Good to see napping is starting to getting the respect -- and understanding -- it deserves. Sweet dreams!

I would love to take a siesta in the middle of the day. Instead, when the circadian is at its lowest I tend to go out and buy a Charleston Chew or an ice cream sandwich to get me through the rest of the workday.

I grab one whenever I can, which isn't often. Naps are always authorized.

Naps are cool. Naps are fun. Naps are essential.

Apologizing for napping is not cool.

I don't get enough naps.

I love to nap. Tom Edison did it. So can I. And you.

I'm just too tired to nap. What I need is a coma.

I don't know if it's just me, but my napping has diminished substantially since I retired. I used to have a power nap every Saturday and Sunday (golf is a great sedative) but recently they have become very infrequent.

Of course I'm sleeping to about 7 every morning after going to sleep about 11. That may contribute to the situation.

Yeah, schedule has something to do with it. I'm rarely back from work before 10:30 PM, often later, usually go to bed between 2 and 4, get 5-6 hours sleep. So the nap(s) usually bring me up to 7 or 8 total hours of sleep.

If left to myself, whatever time I crash, I sleep 7.5 hours and then wake naturally, no clock required.

Haha. Youse guys should have a nap off.

I waiver between fighting off the urge to sleep and not being able to sleep. I do actually think it's good when you give in though.

I like to get out of bed Sunday morning, skip coffee and head straight for the couch for my morning nap.

On a Sunday afternoon any sport will do. I haven't seen the 2nd and 3rd quarter of a Sunday afternoon football game in ages.

Ditto the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th inning of any Sunday afternoon baseball game.

Yup.

Me either.

I miss a lot of golf that way, too.

Golf I can somewhat understand. But football?

Kelly tells me I'm just getting too old for all the excitement...
