I knew a kid who thought the CCR tune was "There's a bathroom on the right".

Lenny D,
I stand corrected. My new favorite, by far, is the Creedence Clearwater Revival "Have You Ever Seen the Rain". That's hilarious. Thanks.

The first time I heard that version of Creedence, I laughed my ass off. I'll try to find more of these babies, Runs.

Another Creedence one (thanks, Fogerty):

In "Down on the Corner," a line is "And Willy goes into a dance and doubles on kazoo."
I used to hear that as "And when he goes into a dance, the devil's on the loose."
I think mine's better.

Nobody better misheard lyrics than my college roommate, Jeff, whose renditions are memorable:

"Tempted by the fruit of my brother.
Tempted but my fruit was discovered.
What's been going on?"
-Squeeze

"Hurt so good. Come on baby, make it hurt so good.
Sometimes love don't smell like it should,
you make it hurt so good."
-Mellen Cougarcamp

I've been doing the singing call to The Devil Went Down To Georgia at my clubs this week, and yesterday one of the dancers asked me what the chicken was doing in a bedpan.

(Chicken in a breadpan pickin' out dough.)

Chapelle had that on his show.
On the "Do you know Black People?" skit, the contestants had to know parts of the "Good Times" Theme.
Any answer was acceptable for the "Standing In A Chow Line" verse.
