I'm saddened by this passing, especially for his young family.

Here's an interesting obit. Poor guy, having been "stalked by cancer" for his adult life. I'm surprised that Bush hired Snow, having read this.
RIP to Bobby Murcer, too.

Poor Mr Snow and family. When I heard a repeat of a February speech from Tony on C-Span this weekend, I knew he'd gone. He was a good voice and I'll miss hearing him.

Rollie, in my opinion, I would have to say that your and Shrugs remarks, in this particular case, are just a little harsh. This from a guy that can't wait for Bush to vacate the White House. Peace, brother.

Though it should be obvious, for the record, I wasn't a Tony Snow fan either.
I'm also not a fan of cancer.

One thing's for sure, I can always count on the people here to take the low road.

Whether you liked what Tony Snow represented or not, many of us find these comments over the top, lacking in basic humanity and unncessary

You suggesting paying homage to a defender of torture is taking the high road?
MR. SNOW: I'll tell you what he said. He was asked the question, "You dunk somebody's head in the water to save a life, is it a no-brainer?" And also, if you read the rest of the answer, he also — the Vice President, who earlier had also been asked about torture, he said, "We don't torture."
Let me give you the no-brainers here. No-brainer number one is, we don't torture. No-brainer number two: We don't break the law, our own or international law. No-brainer number three: The Vice President doesn't give away questioning techniques. And number four, the administration does believe in legal questioning techniques of known killers whose questioning can, in fact, be used to save American lives. The Vice President says he was talking in general terms about a questioning program that is legal to save American lives, and he was not referring to water boarding."
For what it is worth, it doesn't surprise me that Lois Gilbert would think someone who finds torture abhorrent -- along with those who defend torture -- as "lacking in basic humanity."

Who said anything about paying homage to a defender of torture? The guy is dead. No need to profess your delight.

Tony was a relentlessly upbeat shill for the Bush admin., even before he took the press sec. job, but other than that, he seemed like a really nice guy. He didn't start the war or the torture policy, and it's still sad to see someone cut down by cancer in their prime.

Just so I understand what the "high road" is, according to you and Lois Gilbert:
Thou Shall Not Be Delighted When Another Waterboarder Bites the Dust."

Right, just following orders.
Never think I would hear that from someone with your background, groover

Rollie, you're the one that used the term "high road', not me. I get myself in enough trouble without your help.

Yes, it was sad he died -- It was tragic for his family.
I am sure he was nice to reporters and was beloved by his neighbors.
He seemed like quite a likeable guy.
But I think what he represented shouldn't be forgotten.
He CHOSE to make the decisions he made, and that is how I choose to remember him.

The torture policy is misguided and inhumane, rollhead, but I still take no joy in hearing someone died horribly from cancer. No one really has to die to make the world a better place, they just need a change of attitude.

I'd say, for starters..., but it may be more appropriate to ask the loved ones of his victims.

I think it was one day, actually. And then three days for him not to die. And now annually.
