San Francisco Chinatown Hang, Tuesday 9/30

I'll be in SF for a brief visit. I'm getting together with Mike Schwartz for dinner at Z&Y Garden, at 655 Jackson in Chinatown. It would be great if we could turn it into a JC hang. The restaurant serves Sichuan & Yunnan dishes, and gets great reviews. Yunnan cuisine is extremely hard to find, and I'm going to be writing a piece about Yunnan food in Brooklyn, Chicago and SF.

So who's game for dinner on Tuesday at 7:30?

'Sis, it was wonderful to see you 'in your element' on Sunday!

This is a dinner outing & not a music hang.

Awaiting your MJF/'51 impressions.

I don't think I'll be able to make it, unfortunately, as I don't have a car yet and my Tuesday classes end at 6PM (and I have to be back in Monterey for my Wednesday morning classes). I'll look for options though, I'd love to hang with you guys!

I'm going to try to get there. I'll be coming off of 4 weeks of jury duty that day, so I can't promise that I won't be too burned out from work. So....a tentative "yes".

I'm working on it, midweek is tough though. Gerardo, I might be able to give you a ride to and from SJ.

If 8 PM is better for you Santa Cruz/Monterey guys, we can make it a bit later. I'm sure Mike and I can amuse ourselves with liquids before dinner.

I think I can make it, barring unforeseen circumstances. 7:30 is actually fine.

What about the Steve Squared? I'm 99% sure he's probably got 2 dances planned that night.

What about Jazzfiend/Dononjazz? I want to see if he's really a dead ringer for Charles Gayle.

I won't be able to make it due to a prior commitment with some friends.

So, I'm figuring it's Me, Mike, probably Surfer, possibly Gerardo, and probably B Frank. I might try to check the thread Tuesday morning from an internet cafe around the corner from my hotel, and I'll be in phone contact with Mike.

Whatever you or the group decide is fine by me.

BTW, OK to leave my phone # and e-mail for those in the party who may not have it.
