JACOB FISCHER TRIO (with SVEND ASMUSSEN)

Today, on Thursday the 25th of September 2008, the Jacob Fischer Trio with special guest, the eminent grise of the jazz violin, vocalist and entertainer Svend Asmussen will give a concert, due to the release of the new Jacob Fischer album. The release concert in Copenhagen is for an invited audience only. The Jacob Fischer Trio contains Jacob Fischer on the guitar, Hugo Rasmussen at the bass and Janus Templeton on drums.

I'm surprised to know Svend Asmussen is still playing. What's his age ?

Svend is about 93 (maybe 94). Incredible when you realize he was arrested by the nazis for playing degenerate music. I played with him two years ago in Florida and he can definitely still do it (there is a video on you tube).

He and Les Paul are about the same age...
