bbcode icons no longer work for me in firefox
None of the bbcode icons (B, I, U, ...link, ... image... Smiles...) do anything when I click on them. There's no hyperlink for any of them. I can insert the code myself by typing "open bracket" yadda, yadda "slash close bracket" but that's cumbersome and I don't know all the bbcodes. This is a firefox only problem for me. IE works fine. My message interface had somehow been switched to basic but I switched it back to Enhanced Interface and saved it and it now reads as enhanced interface. I also rebooted my computer. Now when i go to edit options- my message editor interface shows as enhanced.

Gordon, what platform are you on? I'm using the latest Firefox with XP with no problem, though I haven't installed SP3.

Have you recently added any add-ons? I use the NoScript add-on - it's a godsend if you visit a corrupt website. However, you have to allow the good sites to run scripts or the site won't work. If you block scripts at the Speakeasy, the smilies get blocked because they're inserted using a script.

Kevin, I tried disabling all of my add-ons. It still didn't help.

Gordon, for what it's worth, the only thing different from your platform and mine is that I have not installed SP3, the same as Pete. I've been paranoid to install it ... perhaps for good reason?

Fixed.
1. I downloaded and installed Firefox 3.1beta.
2. I found that the LogMeIn add-on, which I need for work, is not yet compatible with Firefox 3.1.
3. I reinstalled Firefox 3.0.4. Voila! bbcode icons work again.
FWIW, I am using the same add-ons I was using before.

Ron initially I had a problem with SP3, but my technician for my computers installed it and it's really much better and much more secure.
