An email from True Blue says BN will delete these titles. TB has them in limited quantity.

I wonder how long it will be before they stop taking this stuff "out of print" and make the entire catalog permanently available online.

I'm wondering about recordings themselves.

BN has a policy of deleting all titles that don't sell more than 500 copies a year.

They also have a practice of later repackaging. Not always, though.

I'm not in True Blue's bracket anymore. Their sales prices are out of my league, but so's retail in general. I don't even look at store selections anymore. I'm not altogether thrilled with it, though. I miss flipping through stacks and coming away with titles I hadn't known I was going to buy. But times have changed.

Just this morning, someone over on another board pointed out that Amazon.com is now selling "on demand" CD-Rs of out of print Blue Note titles. They have the Gil Melle 2 CD set for $16.95 now. I assume this could become the business model of the future.
