Philadelphia bands around WWII

I need some help for a friend of mine on another forum and was hoping the group here would be able to offer some assistance...

His father was part of a big-band just before WWII. As often happened, many of them got shipped off and the music had changed when they returned and they never got back together again.

The name of the band was Clyde Walton and His Orchestra. The vocalist he mentioned was Dawn Frederick.

If anyone knows of this band, or knows any kids of anyone in the band, I'm sure it would be greatly, GREATLY appreciated.

It would make an excellent Christmas gift if I could find any info....
