Here's to good health, an improved economy, a reduction in

Not everyone can afford a glass and for that reason I raise my bottle and salute Ron and my other JC friends. This is a post-christmas picture, I believe, and more likely from new year's eve.

I'll be spending the evening with my nephews. We are going to watch cartoons, maybe play some Monopoly and shoot fireworks.

We just finished watching a fantastic western movie from 1951, 'Westward The Women', we had both seen a couple of decades ago and it didn't disappoint our fond memories of it. Enjoying a glass (or two...) of wine after a light dinner. My kind of New Year's Eve, following a year of non stop frenzy.
Happy New Year to all!

Back-to-back hockey here.
First game was Canada's junior team vs. U.S. at the IIHF and Canada won, 7 - 4.
**********
Then, Flames vs. Oilers and the first period is still in session, the Flames just tying the game at 2.
Furious action for the rest of the game, with the lead being passed back and forth a couple of times.
THEN, in the third, the Flames get going and the final is 6 - 4! YAY!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year for those who are on the East Coast of the United States.
I may not be awake by the time the New Year comes to the West Coast.

We had the neighbors over for chocolate fondue, homemade egg nog, and Macallan.
Then when they left, I toggled between a Three Stooges marathon and a Twilight Zone marathon, before settling down to watch Dick Clark embarrass himself again. Please, Dick, retire already!

I fell asleep. And my cold has moved into my chest this morning. I’m stoned on DayQuil. (I know, baby violins.) But it’s still a Happy New Year. Best to all in 2009.

Happy New Year, everyone!
I'm with Pat. It's a hockey day for me, watching the Red Wings and Blackhawks play at Wrigley Field for the Winter Classic. Good times. Also eating and drinking and whatnot.
Tippy, I'm sorry to hear you have "the cold." Everyone around here has it or just got over it. I had it myself a couple weeks ago, and now I'm fighting some kind of stomach thing. Friggin' winter.

Happy Hockey day! As I get older, the idea of a sport that includes beating people up appeals to me. My only time on ice skates, when I was maybe 7, I got a (slight) concussion. I remember being handled gently in the back of a station wagon after the fall. I think I was with my Bluebird troupe.
I feel okay since I’m stoned on Dayquil. It’s kind of fun. Stomach “things” are the worst. Have somebody bring you some OJ and homemade chicken soup!

Happy New Year, don! And Ukrainian Christmas is just around the corner. My Ukrainian(/Norwegian) relatives don’t celebrate it but I think we should start (more presents!). do you have a Father Christmas too?

My entire family was in bed by 9:30. I had some wine and watched Lost Highway, noted 11:57 and 12:05, that's as close as I came to celebrating the odometer change.

Right on, G. I have a tiny bit to fire up but I don’t want to waste it while I am already stoned on DayQuil. Did I mention that I’m stoned on DayQuil? Such a lightweight. LOL.
Calling Tom Storer and douglas: My brother and sister-in-law are in Paris for New Year’s. That’s my brother’s first time! They flew straight from LA – I didn’t know you could do that - on Christmas day. We agreed not to exchange gifts this year so I gave them travel diaries – I don’t know if electronic age people will be into that but they were really beautiful leather diaries that I got on sale – and they gave me a pair of socks (cool mint & grey plaid ones). LOL.
