ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 4, 2009 AT 9 PM

BROOKLYN, NY: Celebrated Canadian electric bass export CHRIS TARRY will perform with his brand new sextet, DUCK HERO at The BOWERY POETRY CLUB in Manhattan on Sunday, January 4, 2009.

The group features frequent co-conspirators HENRY HEY (Rudder) and PETE MCCANN, and adds to the mix vocalist JD WALTER, extra six-string shredder BEN BUTLER, and the rock-solid young drummer MARK GUILIANA (Heernt). During this special show at the Bowery Poetry Club, Duck Hero - a New Band of Heros - will unleash the world premiere of some new music, for a new project, for a new year!

-- Chris Tarry is one of Canada's most successful and celebrated electric bass exports. With three Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammy), eight Juno nominations, and other high profile accolades, he has established himself as one of North America's top musicians. Since moving to NYC in 2003 he has recorded and performed with top musicians such as John Scofield, Ben Monder, Mino Cinelu, Dave Binney, Jim Rotondi Group, Keith Carlock, Anton Fig, Donny McCaslin, Lew Soloff, Chris Cheek, Oz Noy Trio, Gene Jackson, DJ Logic, and many others.

Chris has appeared on over 100 albums around the globe, making him one of New York's busiest bass sidemen, as well as one of the most sought- after electric bassists in the world. He has also produced 8 critically acclaimed albums under his own name, and his main project - The Chris Tarry Group - keeps turning heads, opening ears, and blowing minds worldwide.
