RIP ricardo montalban
although he is best known as "khan" or "mister roarke" he had a long and illustrious career going all the way to the 1940's both in mexico and the U.S.A., and he did it all in excruciating back pain after an accident as a young man. a true loss to the latin american community.

My best friend in CA, Maryida, grew weak in the knees whenever she heard Ricardo Montalban say, "Corinthian Leather"
As for myself, he always struck me as one of the last of a great breed of true gentlemen.
RIP Mr. Montalban.

His casket will be lined with fine Corinthian leather, even though no such things exists. The MGM special effects department is working on it.
Seriously, Montalban was very active in Hispanic causes and did a lot to develop good will between the Latinos and gringos.

sad to say i'm not surprised that he passed so soon after he beloved wife of over 60 years. she was Loretta Young's sister, as many of you may remember. and they were devout Catholics. RIP, Mr. Montalban.
