Pictures of JC'ers From Back in the Day
I thought this could be fun...have any pictures of you from way back when?
Post and explain the story/situation behind the photo.

Here's a couple of mine in my mid-early backpacker daze [circa 1977 or 78]:
Comanche Meadows in the Sierra Nevadas:
Camping on top of Elizabeth Pass 11,380' in the Sierra Nevadas:

Was a pretty decent southpaw hurler back in my baseball playing days.

Har.
Not bad for a right-hander. At least, as memory serves, since we met in Long Beach. Besides, Koufax is just a smidge older, Mike.
Oh, and thbbbttt!!!

I'm outside Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, August 1979 with my friend Frank's son David; I'd just returned from Mexico and joined Frank's family in attending the King Tut exhibit at the (old) DeYoung Museum.

Wow this is frustrating. I'm using the attach icon. I'm trying to resize a photo with PAINT. I use the stretch/skew control. I get the file really near 400 x 400, and then make it a little smaller...only to be told the file size exceeds something-or-other... I've done this before, but man...it doesn't get easier... I'm giving up... I've been at it an hour and a half... and I'm not exactly a computer novice...

Just post them on Flickr, or similar site, and link them here.

David, do you have an online photo management tool to work with such as Flickr or Photobucket? If not, I'd recommend one of those free services, and your problems will be history. I personally prefer and use Flickr, and have even gone the extra step and paid for an unlimited sized account.
Attached Images are a pain in the neck, and they also use bandwidth which Lois pays for dearly.
Send me a PM if you need some assistance.

Here's one from when I was into the body building craze. Can you guess which one is me?

Here's one of me passed out on a bathroom floor after quite stupidly alternating between beer and everclear-punch at a "prom"-themed party in 1990 or so.

(flickr'd for Ron)

Man, I wish I had some of my teenage shots to share, but they are all lost.
I could possibly shoot some photos of my early days from my family albums (I don't have a scanner). I wore the same kind of pants as tippy's brother, by no choice of my own.
tippz, that shot of you and your roommate is hot! You look very similar to a good friend of ours. I wish I had a pic of her to share, she is a really pretty lady. Though, probably taller than you. She's 6'2".

Thanks Scott and Ron.
I was confused by the fact that this bbs offers a way to browse one's own hard drive, (at the paperclip "attachments" icon above) as well as point to a url...
I'll try my facebook page as an intermediate step. If that doesn't work, I'll probably use Photobucket.
Thanks,
db

When I was a kid, Matthew Brady took my picture, but he lost it climbing over casualties.

A couple more from that same backpack trip:
That would be the San Joaquin Valley in the distance [a place I never thought I'd live back then; this marks my 27th year there. Go figure.]
My friend on the left is the cameraman [a hiker we met took this shot; they were headed the opposite direction we were going.]. Those peaks in the background are part of the Great Western Divide in the Sierras. :

Sadly, they are/were mine.
TBH, I hated those curls...always envied people like you with straight hair.
