Now, that's just cruel, Gary.

Don't I know it!!!
AND this is the very same former President who will be gracing a "By Invitation Only" speaking engagement here in Calgary, March 17. He will be speaking [heh heh] at an exclusive club for oil men at over $1,000 a ticket. The same club hosted Karl Rove earlier this year.
I read in the local paper that there will be demonstators out there to greet him. Of course, he's so obtuse that he will think he's the equivalent of a rock star.
The oil people may love him. But the beef guys are still ticked about the shut down of the border for TWO YEARS over one infected cow that was destroyed immediately, never entering the food chain.
This was after the softwood lumber industry on our west coast was almost destroyed by excessive U.S. tariffs that had been judged illegal by a neutral, international court.
Both coincidentaly took place after Jean Chretien, who was PM at the time, listened to the electorate and refused to march lock-step with Bush to Iraq.

How do we hate him?? Let me count the ways.

Letterman used to play portions of that on his show almost every time I ever watched. Looking at the whole thing – GWB has fantastic comic timing. Too bad the U.S. hadn’t figured out his true talent in 2000 and 2004.

People laughed at his lame jokes because he was President of the United States.
They will continue to laugh at his lame jokes because he WAS President of the United States.
They laugh in the same way office toadies laugh at the boss, when he/she makes lame jokes, to curry favour.
It will be years before George W Bush realizes that he's not actually funny.

I miss him. The History Channel is running a bunch of documentaries with Bush in them; one about Air Force One, one about Marine One, one about Behind the Scenes at the White House. It's only two weeks gone and yet it's like a vanished Golden Age. The liberlas have their Camelot and all, but George Bush was something elusively great--even he could not articulate it--because it wasn't just mythical, like King Arthur. It was almost pre-literate.

Why "almost"? ;-)

Hell, it's almost pre-language.

The funniest retard to get x hundred thousand people killed and many more wounded for no reason.

"Elusively great?"

Nothing "elusive" or "great" about Bush, just all-too-clear stupidity. Though I guess one could make a case there was greatness in his stupidity.

Never has such a peabrain rose to such heights. Clear and permanent proof that, yes, Jimmy, anyone can grow up (or not) to be president of the United States.

Or stubborn arrogance.
What kind of a doofus continues to insist on saying "NU CU LAR?
It's inconceivable that he never heard anyone say the word correctly, although I'm sure that whoever might have thought of correcting him would feel that they might be risking their job by doing it.
I don't think he's stupid.
I think that he revelled in the knowledge that he could do or say anything at all, unchallenged.
An example is his assigning juvenile nicknames to people that he would never dare, if he were not President.
That's a not very subtle bullying tactic.
He did what he did, for the last eight years, because he could.
Everyone was afraid to step forward and try to stop him.
It must have been a kick for someone with his personality.

Stupid is the simplest explanation that accounts for the known facts, so I go with it.
