Some of Baltimore's best improvisers play The Talking Head on Wednesday April 22. 3081 is Dave Ballou-trumpet; John Dierker-reeds; Marc Miller-guitar; Michael Formanek-bass; and Will Redman-drums. They play improvised music and it is always worth checking out. They haven't been playing out together a whole lot lately, so this is a great chance to get to see them...it is sure to be a good one.
Also playing are Baltimore/DC's Turn Around Norman and Mackstaller/Trudel/Kuhl, a new trio of Ryan Mackstaller-guitar; Eric Trudel-tenor; and Tim Kuhl-drums. They are mix of musicians from NY and Baltimore and it is there world-premiere performance. Turn Around Norman is Cam Collins, Brent Madsen (of Jerseyband!), JJ Wright, Adam Hopkins, and Nathan Ellman-Bell. Details and poster:
