What the heck is going on???
I go off to Spain for 9 days and I come back and it appears that everything has gone haywire here!!
What happened to Tippy? Tippy is, arguably, the best thing on this site.
Why is Scott banned? I never saw why people got so uptight over him. He's a bit of a hot-head, but no real threat, imho.
Could someone please break down all this madness for me?
Thanks!

Remember the last time this place devolved into a giant cluster fuck?
It happened again.

To do that would require a system rollback.

consider yourself fortunate that you missed two unsavory threads. you can, however, access the third which is still up.
you didn't think there was anything to get "uptight over" about that other guy either! Clasp!
hope you and your daughters had a great trip!

Really, I am mucho confused. Surely, someone can tell me. Why does Tippy want to be de-registered, or whatever it's called?

It's simple: A few people take this board way too seriously and seem to have a little too much invested in it. Which in the end is both sad and ridiculous.

I suppose you could PM her. Unless you want the Rashomon version.

Hit it, boys!
Lady of Spain, I adore you
Right from the night I first saw you
My heart has been yearning for you
What else could any heart do?
Lady of Spain, I'm appealing
Why should my lips be concealing
All that my eyes are revealing...

Spain was cool. I'll write more about that later. I'm so busy catching up w/ JC, I mean work...
In Madrid, I saw my third bullfight. I can't really defend it but I find bullfighting fascinating.

Of course, I was joking and I wanted Pete to know that I got his joke. That is one of the reasons I am so out of it here. I only read a few threads on this site--the music ones & vacation-y ones and so I miss a lot. I typically don't read threads about Kirstie Alley (there are so many-- lol) but Goody's title was "don't ya think" ,or something like that, so I didn't know what it was about..
Anywho, I hear you, Val.

normally, i hardly read the "fighting" threads and seldom, if ever, post on them. but i couldn't contain myself a couple of times yesterday because, to me, Scott has been a "thorn" around here most of the time since the day he arrived on the scene. and often nasty and abusive. however, i hadn't expressed myself about him for a very long time. hope i never do again. what a waste of time and energy! you really didn't miss a thing, Mary!

I see the problem as over-extended adolescence.

Over extended adolescence
I want to cruise the burger bar
and get a shake with fries
but my chlorestoral is too high
and the weight goes on my thighs
I want to go to the beach
and lay upon the sand
but unfortunately I od on Vitamin D
and end sunstroked instead of tanned
I want to dance like I did at fifteen
full of life and much abandon
but I get much too hot these days
and often have to have the fan on
and though my hair is greying
and I can no longer loosen jar lids
I am becoming contrary
and Im a burden on my kids
I still laugh at silly jokes
and see the world as a funny place
get surprised when I look in the mirror
and see all these lines on my face
So I'll dress in jeans and cheesecloth
and put on patchoulie essence
and plot some fun to do today
in my extended adolescence

My parents both lived into their early 90s, but I always thought that my Dad fared better than my mother because he managed to keep alive that inner child. That's the part of us that can still wonder and dream. He grew a mustache for the very first time in his eighties and could still appreciate a well-turned feminine ankle.
When that child dies..................so do we, I think.

Ah yes, the inner child.
I try to keep mine kicking. The thing is to get older without becoming old.
However there are some folks who get beyond adolescence but manage to maintain everything adolescent.
I my eyes adolescence is the worst time of life because the body is almost fully grown but the inner self is in turmoil and often tries to hurt other people or pick arguments without reason.
Having a good time is something I hope I never lose, but I hope my assholeness of adolescence is in the distant past.

Gee wiz, JM.
All this and after you got your undies up in a bunch over my commentary about why people get fat...you wonder why?

Stop it, Valerie.
I mean, really.
Though I agree Dolan has been a complete pain in the ass, you are the self-appointed behavior maven on this BBS. After you jam people up you perceive as an "evil" influence here you engage in self-serving platitudes and kiss-up politics to save face.
Now how about a little honesty once, eh?
