(had to do this)
peculiar: 1 470 000
peculier: 20 100

Must say that one of my pet peeves is the misuse of "your" and "you're"; also, "its" and "it's".
I'll bet the above are misused about 80% of the time on this site!

So, what would it take for 'definately' to be accepted as a variant of 'definitely' by the dictionary people?

I never cease to be amazed at how many politicians and news reporters say Washen DC. Sheer laziness.

When I was a kid in North Carolina, there were lots of other kids who pronounced "spaghetti" as "psghetti". Kinda' like verbal dyslexia or something.

Valerie dear, you have embarrassed your old dad, here.
I had totally forgotten that possessives of personal pronouns do *not* get an apostrophe. Hence I'm sure I and others have been guilty of incorrect possessives, eg your's, their's .
PEDANT!!!
