Art Tatum Jazz Festival cancelled
Music at Murphy's will repalce the bash at International Park
This year's Art Tatum Jazz Festival won't be taking place at International Park as it has in past years. Corporate funding was cut, making the festival a victim of the economy.
Ironically, this year's festival would have coincided with Tatum's 100th birthday anniversary.
Murphy's Place in downtown Toledo is helping to carry on the tradition by offering a jazz party June 19 and 20 at the venue at 151 Water St. Two stages will feature local and regional jazz musicians, including Johnny O'Neal and Gunnar Mossblad. Honorary master of ceremonies will be Jon Hendricks.
