How Do I Convert FLAC Files To My iTunes So I Can Load Them Into My New Ipod Shuffle?

Just got a Shuffle, d/l'd some FLAC files. I save them as desktops but cannot get them into iTunes, to load into my Shuffle.
Assistance, please, even as you snicker at this luddite's dilemna.

Are you on a PC or a Mac?

I'm on a Mac, and I use a (free) program called Max.

iPod's can play these file types

* MP3
* WAV
* AAC/M4A
* Protected AAC
* AIFF
* Audible audiobook
* Apple Lossless

iPod's cannot play these file types

* Copy protection WMA files
* Ogg Vorbis
* FLAC
--------------

If you have a PC, just do a google search for "convert FLAC to MP3 PC" or "convert FLAC to MP3 Ipod", something like that, and you'll find what you want.

Unless he's acquired a new machine, Jesse is on a PC, a Dell laptop.

It's not about putting them in his itunes to listen to in FLAC form, it's about converting them from FLAC to MP3 or some other format which is compatible with his Ipod Shuffle.

If he's on a PC, Stone's link should be exactly what he wants.

If anybody is interested in good, free, software to convert FLAC files into WAV files, try "Trader's Little Helper." That's what I use when I want to burn concerts I download on Dime.

Does "Trader's Little Helper" do other conversions, too? Because FLAC Frontend is perfect for FLAC to WAV. I use FLAC Frontend to convert FLAC to WAV, then mkw Audio Compression Tool to convert WAV to mp3. Both of them are handy little lightweight tools.

Yes, one can convert FLAC to WAV and re-encode to MP3 in TLH. One can also create torrents with TLH.

I used to use mkw Audio Compression Tool to de-code SHN files, back when they were popular.
