Evan Parker @ Stone in October

while at the shows on Sunday night a friend showed me a nice piece of paper that has Evan Parker visiting NYC in October and having a 2 week residency @ The Stone

I wish I could take the full 2 weeks off work and make the shows almost every night

many interesting combos but from my recollection, the three that stand out for me and are must sees are:

duo with Dave Holland!
duo with Chris Corsano

and of course:

trio with Mark Dresser & Gerry Hemingway

only $10 per set or $20 for each night

if anyone knows where this is listed on-line in full, please let me know

in that environment, this is gonna be beyond a dream to see the great man with these musicians.

I wanna get greedy so I sure wish one day guys like Barry Guy, John Edwards & Mark Sanders can make one these trips as well.

but I am so grateful that he is coming at all - and to hear him with the like-minded locals will be a treat indeed.

Sounds good Steve. Nothing yet on The Stone's website, though. Would definitely make it out to see Mr. Parker at least once.

I will have to plan a trip up to NYC if this comes off. I want to sit next to Steve when I experience the ***GREAT*** Evan Parker for the first time live.

Good to hear you're going out for music, again, Preach.

Sisco:

If you heard the Brotz Full Blast trio, your hearing (which is already ringing - yes?) would never be the same. I thought I was experiencing internal bleeding.

Now The Stone is a very small place which is all about the music - no drinks, no water, no food, no thing except the sound. Evan up close will be the next great saxophonist I have seen there where one can hear them like in no other venue. Hearing Gustafsson & Dunmall in this space was mindblowing enough - hearing Evan Parker from 5 feet away might be more than this boy can handle!
