Ruby Braff and the Blues

I have always enjoyed Ruby Braff's playing from the middle 50's. My first exposure was his soloing on "BG in HiFi" back when I was in highschool. I enjoyed his duets with Larkins and Dave Mckenna. And there is a neat record called "The Best of Braff". He seemed not to be interested in the 12 bar blues. In my collection, only "Rock Rimmin'" on BG in HiFi is a blues. Does anyone know of CDs that have Ruby playing the blues?

Interesting--never thought that Ruby didn't like blues form... though he was particular and opinionated

From earlier records I know-

"Fine and Mellow" from Hustlin' and Bustlin' May 54'

"Blues For Ellis" from Ruby Braff & Ellis Larkins Duets Volume 2-1956

"Pan Am Blues" from Ruby Braff-Buddy Tate w/ The Newport All Stars-1967

gotta' be more!?

I, also, was knocked out when I heard Ruby Braff on the Goodman disc.

I was a fan ever since. He had a beautiful, instantly identifiable sound and style.

Probably my two favorites are Ruby with Vic Dickenson and a great band and Ruby's All-Star disc with a genuinely all-star band.
