Happy 4th of July 2009, American Achievers!

Don't know if you saw it on ESPN but today at the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island, the record was blown away--the world record--by AMERICAN Joey Chestnut (from San Jose) who ate 68 hot dogs (with buns) in ten minutes, thus earning himself $10,000 in prize money. That's like thirty-five feet of sausage.

But any real American knows its not about the money. Or the size of the wiener. There are only three words to express what something like this means on the Fourth of July:

USA!
USA!
USA!

The general manager of KSJS noted on Facebook that the winner, Joey Chestnut, is an alumus of San Jose State University.

Way to go!

With this type of fame, a Nobel Prize winner would pale in comparison at SJSU

Thank God we live in a country where we can win money by stuffing obscene amounts of processed, food-like substances down our gullets!

Big fuckin' deal. They were all plain dogs. Let's see him do that when the dogs have mustard, kraut and chopped onion on 'em.
