CHARLIE HUNTER August Residency: 4 Intimate Shows at Rose Live Music, Brooklyn, NY

CHARLIE HUNTER
Brooklyn Residency, August 2009

Sundays @ Rose Live Music
345 Grand St., Brooklyn, NY 11211

performing material from his latest release, "Baboon Strength", plus a sneak peek at all-new music written for his upcoming album

Charlie Hunter is a one of a kind performer. Armed with a 7 string instrument, he plays the bass and guitar simultaneously, and does it with such talent, passion and commitment that it becomes so much more than a novelty. He's played with many amazing folks, but my favorite credit of his is on D'Angelo's "Voodoo" record. COME ON. That rules.

Charlie is playing four Sundays in August in the tiny Rose space in WIlliamsburg, and you best go to as many of them as you can if you know what's good for ya. Chris Conly is hosting the residency with us at his Brooklyn Experiments series. Four different lineups, here they are:

[ ---- 8 PM doors, 2 sets each night ---- ]

Sunday, August 9

CHARLIE HUNTER DUO
Charlie Hunter (7-string guitar)
Tony Mason (drums)

Sunday, August 16

CHARLIE HUNTER DUO
Charlie Hunter (7-string guitar)
Bobby Previte (drums)

Sunday, August 23

CHARLIE HUNTER DUO
Charlie Hunter (7-string guitar)
Adam Cruz (drums)

Sunday, August 30

CHARLIE HUNTER w/ BRASS
Charlie Hunter (7-string guitar)
Eric Kalb (drums)
Eric Biondo (trumpet)
Curtis Fowlkes (trombone)
Alan Ferber (trombone)

These all ages shows are $10 in advance at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/73703

$12 at the door, and $10 if you have student ID.

Rose Live Music is just a few blocks from the Lorimer stop on the L and G, and the Marcy Ave stop on the JMZ, also an easy walk from the Bedford L.

Space Limited!

Tickets to these shows are going fast, and because Rose is so small and intimate, they'll only sell up to 75 tickets to each show.

so if you want, you can get tix at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/73703.

otherwise, try your luck at the door!

next show coming up!

thanks to everyone who came out last sunday! as anyone that was there will tell you, it was an awesome show. very intimate vibe and incredible music.

the next one is coming right up, this sunday, aug 16, this time with bobby previte on drums.

you can get tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/73703, which is recommended because the space is so small.

see you there!

(if you can't make it, there are 2 more shows on aug 23 and aug 30).
