Steve, welcome back!

Harmos is the best music tonic for all ailments! It's my favorite record of the last 10 years or so.

vey close to mine as well - off the top of head I think the following few MUST be heard by the newer posters who only know me as someone who is referred to ofetn as the Preacher

AALY - Hidden in the Stomacj

Quartet Noir

all the Gerry Hemingway band records

Mal Waldron - Quadralogue at Utopia - both volumes - with the *great* Jim Pepper on tenor

Steve Lacy - Morning Joy specifically to hear the *great* Steve Potts

DAHABENZAPPLE

Coming Down the Mountain

Tenderly

The Two Seasons - Evan Parker, John Edwards and my man, Mark Sanders at the kit

No Try No Fail - Urs, Fritz & Joelle

and for those who want to the hear the tandem at their peak - 2 days in April - Fred, Kidd, William and the *GREATEST* pure jazz drummer, motivator - the king of the groove, Hamid at the kit

and listen to them scream......

and never......

and I almost did....

never......

Welcome back, Reynolds. Glad to see you haven't dropped Waldron & Lacy. You were missed when Dennis G played Tonic.

Yes indeed. I went all the way to NYC, and I didn't get to meet my mentor--plus you would have enjoyed the show and the hang.

Who recorded those four albums? Is he sublime and Round?
(It was Joe Maneri, folks.)

maybe this upcoming release on Psi, scheduled for "late September", will break Steve into new territory:

ALEXANDER VON SCHLIPPENBACH

BROOMRIDING

PSI 03.05

SCHLIPPENBACH (piano), RUDI MAHALL (bass clarinet),
TRISTAN HONSINGER (cello) & PAUL LOVENS (percussion)
recorded at DeutschlandRadio Berlin in 2002,
using pieces by Schlippenbach, Honsinger & Eric Dolphy.

Hey now, nice to hear my favorite voice of passion and enlightenment.

Steve, here's hoping for a speedy recovery and eventual state of happiness & contentment.
Life's too damn short to do otherwise.

We need your guidance & direction in all things musical. Hell, don't forget that you made me what I am today: one broke (but musically happy) SOB.

Stick around this time, and

WELCOME BACK!

Reynolds! Man, I've been missing your ass. Give me a shout on the phone. Best time to reach me is after 4:30. Good to see you pop up on the board again. I've long forgiven you for failing to show while I was in NYC. :-)

THE PREACHER IS BACK! THE PREACHER IS BACK!

BTW, these Maneri detractors all over the place?---They don't know nothing! (And as for my speculations about your absence.....WTHDIK?)

Hang in there, bro. We missed you bad, but we don't just want you back, we want you completely jazzed and at full volume.

Steve, you've got to keep a rave in reserve until you've heard the Jimmy Lyons solo set from Soundscape.

You gotta LOVE Reynolds. And, anyway, now we can hopefully all know who (musically) to like again. I, personally, was more lost than usual.

Appropos of Harmos: I can get real dark and once. a long time ago, I got up the nerve to approach a real pretty nude girl on a nude beach and to use the introduction "Hi, I'm Harmless" which I thought was funny, and she seemed real interested, but it turned out it was because she thought I said "I'm Harmos" and she thought that was my name and that it meant I was exotic. When she found out I wasn't, she wanted food. I had none.
