Army Private Seizes Control of Iraq
OK, not really. I like the set-up. I might do my apartment in that style.
Army Pfc. Michael Kuhn occupies a throne Tuesday at Saddam Hussein’s presidential palace in Baghdad as he clowns around with Pfc. Nick Pershing, left, and Pfc. Jason Miller, all with 1st Battalion, 325th Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. The gilded throne is a favorite spot for visitors to take photos.

For some reason, I just don't find that funny. And I've got a good sense of humor. I think.

I don't think RBS was responding to that excellent metaphor for the U.S. occupation.

Military-Industrial Complex Keeps Lid on New Generation of Super Groovy Fighting Machines
According to official sources, they don't exist. Yet persistent rumors and news photographs prove that the United States military has developed a program of super groovy fighting machines capable of devastating the enemy with incredible retro style.
Somebody get the Pentagon a Scooby snack!

Do me a favor, will ya RBS?
Read my first post [#133] on the "Trivial Annoyances" thread and tell me if there was some humor in what I wrote.
Everybody I show this to either laughs out loud or at least chuckles a little bit.
Is it funny...even in a quirky sorta way? Just a little bit?
E-mail or PM me if you don't want to express it here.
Thanks in advance.

JMJ,
I don't see the wholesale destruction of a soveriegn country through illegitimate force by a power hungry Bushie, hell bent for his Daddy's revenge, terribly funny either.
Frankly, I think it sucks.

Excellent, Goody! Instead of out classing or out numbering your opponent, you declare him out classed and out numbered. I cower!
Yet somehow I feel that if at a Chinese diner I were to order a dish of Goody's Enlightened and Grateful Students, I would be chasing rice around an empty plate with chop sticks.

Apparently you misunderstand your own insult.
If, indeed, you intend to eat any student who benefitted from my teaching, you'd be tilting at windmills.
An impossible task if not completely futile.
If we may use your Chinese dinner analogy...you wouldn't be hungry two hours later. You'd be over full and in desperate need of a stomach pump.

When you phrase it that way, it certainly loses some of its luster.

"An impossible task if not completely futile."
So you're saying Monte eating your students has some redeeming value?

No way, it's like how free range chickens have tougher meat than factory chickens (although not really, because free range animals tend to taste better).
