George W. Bush should have told the truth

One can always hope, no?

Frighteningly, I think that, like Reagan in the Iran/Contra situation, Mr Bush is out of the loop and doesn't have a clue. He seems to be wheeled out to make a speech and participate in a photo-op and wheeled back into his lair. If any heads roll, they won't be his.
His style of being Commander in Chief seems to be to wear the outfit and parrot the party line.

There's a spoof of a western song that the Smothers Brothers performed and these lines keep occurring to me:

"I can see by your outfit
That you are a cowboy
I can see by your outfit
That you're a cowboy too

You can see by our outfits
That we are both cowboys
If you get an outfit
You can be a cowboy too. "

I was thinking of those lines, oddly, as I watched Mr Bush make his "Victory" speech on the aircraft carrier on May 1. The flightsuit, the salutes, the "I'm one of you"-ness rings false.
He's all flightsuit and no soldier. Just putting on a uniform doesn't make him a soldier, risking his life, retroactively.
