Hasn't he gone on and on about how addicts are an outrage and deserve no compassion? And how they are a moral and financial drain on society?
What a maroon.

Rush's Accuser Has Arrest Record
The man who, along with his wife, has accused Rush Limbaugh of buying drugs from the couple has an arrest record.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, David Cline was arrested for living under a false name for years in what authorities said was an elaborate attempt to avoid paying child support.
The newspaper reported that deputies arrested Cline in May 2000 after his ex-wife tracked him down. He ended up pleading guilty to unauthorized possession of a driver's license and three counts of title fraud, and agreed to serve 18 months' probation.

BUSH EXPRESSES SUPPORT OF LIMBAUGH; HOST TO RETURN TO AIRWAVES AT NOON; ENQUIRER HELD STORY FOR TWO YEARS
**Exclusive**
President Bush expressed support of radio star Rush Limbaugh in conversations with top staff on Thursday, a senior administration source told the DRUDGE REPORT.
"Rush is a great American," the president said of the beleaguered host, who has championed the conservative movement for decades. "I am confident he can overcome any obstacles he faces right now."
Limbaugh is to host his daily broadcast from New York City on Friday.

Uh-oh. Sounds like there may just be an admission on the horizon...........

Rush: I'll Tell All on Painkiller Story
Addressing for the first time allegations that he's under investigation in Florida for abusing prescription painkillers, talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh promised his audience today that he'd tell them everything he knew "as soon as I know what I'm up against."
"The story in Florida, it really is an emerging situation," Limbaugh said at the top of his broadcast. "I watch what's being reported on television and it changes from morning to morning, hour to hour, day to day.
He continued:
"I don't know yet what I'm dealing with here, folks. I really don't know the full scope of what I'm dealing with. But when I get all the facts, when I get all the details of this, rest assured that I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is."
Limbaugh pledged, "I'll tell you everything there is - well, maybe more than you want to know."
Sounding confident and strong, Limbaugh said he'd received more than 25,000 supportive e-mails since he was hit with twin controversies over his comments to ESPN and allegations from a former housekeeper that she obtained for him thousands of painkilling pills over the last four years.
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate the notes, all of the expressions of support. It means everything to me, as has your support over these many years," the top talker said. "I've often said throughout the 15 years that I've been here that you people have made my life an adult Christmas every day."
While Limbaugh did not expressly deny the story, reported first by the National Enquirer on Thursday, he said he was frustrated that "I haven't yet gotten to the bottom of what all this is about."
"I'm very much desirous of telling you about this," he insisted. "But until I know exactly what this is - and I don't yet - it just makes no sense to start delving into it."
When the story hit Thursday, Limbaugh issued a statement explaining that he had yet to be contacted by law enforcement and had no idea that he was under investigation for anything.
He said he couldn't be more specific because "I don't want to deal with hypotheticals, and I don't want to respond to what's in the press, though I - I'm very tempted to, but I'm not going to even go there."
"Trust me - it makes no sense for me to go there," the top talker said. "Just trust me on this. When I find out all that this is ... then you are going to be among the first to know."
Palm Beach County law enforcement sources have said that Limbaugh was not the target of their probe. It's not clear whether Limbaugh's housekeeper, Wilma Cline, compromised their larger investigation by selling her story to the supermarket tabloid.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also heard something interesting on Foxnews this morning. Some doctor had told them that a combination of two of the painkillers Rush was on can cause hearing loss. Didn't offer any facts to back this up, but I thought it was interesting anyway.

Wow, what a repetitive story, could have been half the length. They even used "top talker" twice. Anyway, what I'm really wondering is: WTF is an "adult Christmas"? Sounds like something you'd want to keep behind closed doors (those of your pill cabinet, for example).

Oh jesus christ, MKE. You can put the fur on your back down. I apologize for saying 'Foxnews' in mixed company. You liberal kitties are so high strung.
The point is that Rush Limbaugh almost had to quit a year or so back because he started to rapidly lose his hearing. And he had no idea why. so that part of the story would make a little more sense if he truly was addicted to these painkillers.
Better?
Imagine, Foxnews reporting something like that! Oh the horrors!!!!

OCTOBER 3--Meet Louis Beshara and his wife, Gloria Rodriguez. The Florida couple are at the heart of the drug scandal now enveloping radio superstar Rush Limbaugh. Investigators allege that the duo illegally sold hundreds of thousands of prescription painkillers from a Palm Beach-area pharmacy they owned. According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's search warrant affidavit, Beshara provided Hydrocodone, the powerful and addictive painkiller, to middlemen drug dealers like Joseph Coppola who then resold the pills to users. It has been reported that Limbaugh scored some of the Beshara pills via Wilma Cline, a former maid at the radio star's West Palm Beach mansion. Beshara and Rodriguez, who each face two felony drug trafficking charges, are free on bail, though Beshara is under house arrest. (8 pages)

From ABCNews.com:
Tough Times
Rush Limbaugh Ends One Public Problem and Faces Another
Oct. 3— Just after he resigned his ESPN gig because of comments he made about a black quarterback's performance, Rush Limbaugh could be facing the heat again. ABCNEWS has learned new details about his alleged ties to a black-market drug ring.
A high-ranking official in Florida has told ABCNEWS some surprising details about the state's investigation of Rush Limbaugh.
ABCNEWS has confirmed that radio mega-star Rush Limbaugh is being investigated for allegedly buying illegal prescription drugs near his Palm Beach, Fla., home. Palm Beach authorities had no official comment.
"We don't comment on investigations," said Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office.
But a source close to the investigation told ABCNEWS that Limbaugh's former housekeeper claims she helped Limbaugh purchase thousands of prescription painkillers over a four-year period — at times in the parking lot of a local Denny's restaurant. Among the drugs she says she purchased: the powerful painkiller Oxycontin.
The source also says investigators have audiotapes of at least two drug transactions — allegedly with Limbaugh's voice — but these were recorded secretly by the former housekeeper, not by police.
Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates the politically focused Rush Limbaugh Show to more than 650 markets, issued a statement from Limbaugh on Thursday saying: "I am unaware of any investigation by any authority involving me. No government representative has contacted me directly or indirectly. If my assistance is required, I will, of course, cooperate fully."
If the allegations prove true, the talk show host will undoubtedly need to address some of his past comments about drug abuse.
Back in 1995, Limbaugh told his audience on the syndicated Rush Limbaugh, The Television Show that people who are obtaining drugs illegally should be held responsible.
"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up," he said to his audience during the broadcast.
Media Columnist Michael Wolff says Limbaugh's career might not be able to survive a drug charge.
"It would be labeled as an instance of incredible hypocrisy … Mr. Family values, Mr. Tough on Crime," Wolff said.
At risk for Limbaugh, not just his credibility, but a media empire that has earned his networks and stations more than a billion dollars since 1988.
"If this is a felony we're talking about here, than this is the end of Rush Limbaugh. That's it," Wolff said.
Limbaugh gave up his job as an ESPN sports analyst late Wednesday, three days after saying on the sports network's Sunday NFL Countdown that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.
ABCNEWS' Bob Woodruff contributed to this report.

NBC Confirms Limbaugh Drug Probe In Florida
Associated Press Also Confirms Investigation
POSTED: 10:02 a.m. PDT October 3, 2003
UPDATED: 10:08 a.m. PDT October 3, 2003
LOS ANGELES -- NBC news has confirmed through a source that Rush Limbaugh is, in fact, under investigation for allegedly buying thousands of addictive painkillers from a black-market drug ring.
Law enforcement sources also confirmed to the Associated Press that Limbaugh is the subject of a drug-related investigation in Florida and he is being investigated by the Palm Beach County prosecutor's office.
The New York Daily News reported on the accusations on Thursday morning, which were first brought to light by the National Enquirer.
The reports accuse the conservative talk-show host of being addicted to prescription drugs and the focus of a criminal investigation.
According to a source contacted by NBC News, an official investigation into Limbaugh is under way in Florida.
In the Daily News and Enquirerpublished reports, Limbaugh was allegedly turned in by his former housekeeper, who says she was his pill supplier for four years.
The woman claimed Limbaugh abused oxycontin and other painkillers.
Officials in Florida would neither confirm nor deny that an investigation is under way when contacted by NBC News.
Through a spokesperson, Limbaugh said, "I am unaware of any investigation by any authority involving me. No government representative has contacted me directly or indirectly. If my assistance is required, I will, of course, cooperate fully."
Limbaugh's former housekeeper allegedly gave theEnquirer a ledger documenting that she gave him 4,300 pills in one 47 day period. She also allegedly has e-mails sent to her by Limbaugh.
The conservative commentator resigned from ESPN Wednesday night, four days after his comments about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb being overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.
Earlier Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidates Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and Rev. Al Sharpton called for the cable sports network to fire Limbaugh.
"My comments this past Sunday were directed at the media and were not racially motivated," Limbaugh said in a statement Wednesday night. "I offered an opinion. This opinion has caused discomfort to the crew, which I regret.
"I love 'NFL Sunday Countdown' and do not want to be a distraction to the great work done by all who work on it.
"Therefore, I have decided to resign. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the show and wish all the best to those who make it happen."
McNabb had said earlier Wednesday that he didn't mind criticism of his performance. He was upset that Limbaugh made his race an issue and said it was too late for an apology.
"It's somewhat shocking to hear that on national TV from him," McNabb said. "It's not something that I can sit here and say won't bother me."
Limbaugh insisted earlier Wednesday he had "no racist intent whatsoever." In fact, he said he must have been right. Otherwise, the comments would not have sparked such outrage, he said.
Before McNabb led the Eagles to a 23-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Limbaugh said on ESPN's pregame show that he didn't think McNabb was as good as perceived from the start.
"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well," Limbaugh said on "Sunday NFL Countdown."
"There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team," he said.

From the (South Florida) Sun-Sentinel's website:
Limbaugh hires noted criminal attorney Roy Black
By news partner NBC6
Posted October 3 2003, 12:32 PM EDT
PALM BEACH -- A day after he quit his job as a football commentator for ESPN, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh hired prominent Florida criminal attorney Roy Black to represent him in a Palm Beach illicit drug probe.
Palm Beach County law enforcement sources confirmed that officials are investigating a claim by a former maid that conservative radio talk show host, and former ESPN commentator, Rush Limbaugh allegedly bought prescription drugs on the black market in Florida, published reports say.
The investigation, news of which first broke in the National Enquirer tabloid, began after Wilma Cline, a former housekeeper for Limbaugh, told the FBI she helped supply Limbaugh with the highly addictive drugs OxyContin and hydrocodone. According to reports, Cline claimed she made the black market purchases in such locations as a Denny's restaurant parking lot, and that she wore a surveillance wire during at least two of the purchases.
Limbaugh resigned Thursday as an ESPN sports analyst following an uproar over racially-tinged comments he made about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. News of the South Florida investigation broke just hours later.

As far as Limbaugh, I hope that porky piece of poop rots slow. I don't care for his ilk. And the same goes for O'Reilly, Buchanan, and other pasty pricks who spout moralistic hogwash.
Right or Left, screw them all.
Ahh that felt good!

Dan Kennedy doesn't flush Rush: "What would appear to be delicious about this scandal is that Limbaugh is a big-time conservative who's hung out for years with the just-say-no crowd. What could be better than learning that the 'moralizing motormouth' (the Daily News's phrase) has a thing for Oxycontin, a/k/a 'hillbilly heroin'?
Here's what Limbaugh said about the drug story on his radio show yesterday:
Now, here's the nub of it at the moment. The story in Florida is -- it really is an emerging situation. I watch what's being reported on television and it changes from morning to morning, hour to hour, day to day. I don't know yet what I'm dealing with there, folks.

You can believe me and trust me on that. I don't want to answer any questions about it now, as I say, until I know exactly what I'm dealing with, and at that point I will fill you all in.

Apparently, Rush views each day of on-the-air work and his relationship with his audience much the same as a Christmas gift. It's not a childlike notion of a Christmas gift, thus the reference. That's my best guess, Mwanji.

The whole "I don't know what I'm dealing with yet" has two possible connotations to me. The first is that, due to his celebrity status and political views, he could be the victim of a plot to make him look bad. That is not 100% unlikely and it does seem to be what he is implying.
The other interpretation is based on two decades of work with recovering junkies. Even when caught red-handed, they wouldn't confess to everything they'd done until they knew exactly how much YOU knew. No need to confess to things they haven't specifically been busted for, you know?
And while I know that the Enquirerer is a journalistic joke, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

Jazzooo, this was the tone that I took from the article. Although you are right about the first scenario you outlined, his response just didn't seem to fit were that to be the case. If this were some kind of plot, or smear job, I don't know why he wouldn't just completely deny it altogether.
Conversely, what you said about finding out what others know BEFORE you actually admit to something is perfectly on the money, and the statements he made sound as if that is EXACTLY what he's doing.
