Guess the line(s) from the movie(s)
Another silly game!
Who said it? From which movie? What or who is the connection between the three quotes?
I'll start.
1) "Hit him again Smitty!"
2) "I'm used to being the top banana in the shock department."
3) When I get through with you, you'll look like -well, what do you call beautiful? A tree? You'll look like a tree.

The Hopper/Walken scene is *the* great scene in that movie, but I didn't pick the line.

I totally agree with you regarding the greatness of that scene. I believe Tarentino wrote the screenplay, which is obvious in that scene for sure. The other notable scene is the one with Gary Oldman. I may be biased a bit, since I tend to favor Gary Oldman (and view him as one of the finest actors of his generation, along with Sean Penn, and yes, Johnny Depp too).
The rest of the movie is entertaining, although nowhere near the heights of that Walken/Hopper scene. Cleverly wrought, and of course perfectly cast (Gandolfini is also well cast, which reminds me of his scene with Arquette, another one worth noting).
The aspect of the Walken scene which grabs me is the fact that Hopper's character knew the only way he could avoid giving up his son was to goad Walken into killing him first. Chilling stuff.

The Oldman scene is brilliantly and chaotically insane - terrifying, I love it. Oldman is terrific!
Some more:
"I think I have it. A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."
"I've frequently not been on boats."
"Whatever became of the moment when one first knew about death? There must have been one. A moment. In childhood. When it first occured to you that you don't go on forever. It must have been shattering, stamped into one's memory. And yet, I can't remember it."

Quote 2 from #2 above was from Diner, where Mickey Roarke got his girl to touch his dick in a movie theater by sticking it into the bottom of his popcorn box.

The In-Laws. The "Serpentine" scene is great, but among the other great scenes/lines from that movie are:
1) "Dad's 'mysterious phone calls' are what put you through 4 years of college!"
2) "There are flames on my car!"
3) "Oh, Jesus. Pigs!"
4) "The Bay Of Pigs was *your* idea?"
5) "The trick is staying alive. That's really the key to the whole benefits package."
I love that f**king movie.

Is [2] from Forrest Gump? If so, I believe the line is simply, "That's my boat." I love his voice when he says that and I always crack up my daughter when I imitate it.
The In-Laws required a rerelease, not a remake. I love Alan Arkin.

Arkin and Falk had great chemistry. They were hilarious together. Not quite Lemmon and Matthau, but there was something special going on with those two.
