Ahmed Abdullah's Diaspora with Salim Washington on saxophone, Masujaa on guitar, John Ore on bass, Andrei Strobert on drums along with Monique Ngozi Nri, poetry and vocals and poet Louis Reyes Rivera will perform at Sistas' Place, 456 Nostrand Avenue, Saturday, October 18, two sets at 9 and 10:30pm. information: 718-398-1766. The Quintet with Ahmed Abdullah trumpet, Salim Washington saxophone, Masujaa on guitar, John Ore on bass and Cody Moffett on drums will also perform on Thursday, October 23, at the Black Workers' Pub located at 883 Sanford Avenue, Irvington, NJ. There will be two sets: 8-9:30pm and 10-11:30pm. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Drinks are available at the bar and dinners can be purchased.
