The Post Box Appears But When I Hit the Submit Button...

I get a message saying I didn't specify the forum or something like that. How do I correct this?

This is an option if you want to change forums or start a new thread, otherwise ignore

"No thread thread specified. If you followed a valid link, contact the webmaster."

That's the message I get, and my post is not accepted. (It just happened.)

Was it this post or tell me where it happened. You have to be in a forum to start a new thread - you have to be in a thread to put a new post... so tell me where this happened if you can recall...

It happened in this thread. It also happened in the "New Jazz Compilation" thread and the "NCAA Basketball Thread." I'm typing at an office computer at work, not one I normally use, and I haven't had this problem on the other computers I've used.

You'll be shocked to hear I have no idea what the problem is.

Reid, what operating system/browser?

Gosh Reid since it's not your normal computer I hesitate to try to resolve the problem cause it might mean have to change some settings and things.... Esp since it's not happening on your other computers. Annoying but I would let it go as long as you're able to post... Maybe it's in your preferences

I know I use the hi grey as my default style but when I come to jazzcorner.com/speakeasy through netscape it gives me the default - I then have to press the little arrow next to the login at the top and it then switches me over saying yo'ure now logged in. In IE it goes right to hi fi grey.

Each machine, if they're behind a firewall, corp set up etc may act differently esp a LAN or network...

It's a IE browser on a dsl line. The thing is I use the same thing in another computer at work at my office, and I don't have this problem. There are several computers hooked up to this dsl line I believe, and maybe that has something to do with it.

Anyway, I didn't mean to ask you guys to change things on the site. I was just wondering if someone knew the adjustments I could make on the computer I was using.

Btw, the lo-fi skin appears when I use it. If you think of any suggestions, let me know.

What seems to work is that I copy what I type, then I try to post. If my post is not accepted, I go back to the post box and copy what I just wrote. When I submit the post after that, my post gets accepted. It's kinda weird.

IE settings are privacy acceot 1st party cookies and 3rd party cookies and check override automatic cookie handling....

check your user options in your cp pick the style you want to use.

make sure you save, get out of IE and renter and see what happens

Lois and Mone,

Thanks for your help. I still haven't solved the problem, but I can live with it. I don't always use this computer.
