Tune in Now!
Come on people! Im trying to get more people to listen to my radio shows... tonight (Sunday) until 1AM, I will be playing all kinds of out stuff - the perfect playlist to drive away annoying in-laws staying for the holidays.
You can find the link at my site - check out the other radio shows we have too.
Right now, I'm playing a cut off the Art Ensemble's latest ECM disc, up next is a cut from William Parker's Scrapbook , etc etc. Tune in folks, no special software required...

Hmm... don't know... sorry guys.
Went away to a movie... might be my computer (we're in a transitional phase - getting it up onto a more reliable server). I'll be here to see what's happening for the rest of the evening.
Thanks for listening, though!
EDIT: I see what you guys are talking about. I haven't seen that before. I'm trying to get in touch with my brother (the tech guy) to see what's up... I'll keep you updated.
DOUBLE EDIT (Friday Afternoon): Well, whatever the problem was, it seems to be fixed now, so I'm going to do a special show all afternoon and evening today to make up for it - I'll be replaying last night's playlist on repeat (it's about 3 hrs long), so enjoy. And keep letting me know if you run into any problems.

Since some actually seemed interested in this... I thought I'd go ahead and post the play list for tonight's show (Sunday 1/11) - this will give an idea of the Sunday shows, and then I'll try to post a representative list from a Tuesday and Thursday show as well, to give a good idea of all of them. Remember they are weekly... so if you like a particular type of "jazz", you should tune in on that day each week.
Here goes:
1) "Variation of a Riff" by the Jemeel Moondoc Tentet - Live at the Vision Festival 2001 (Ayler)
2) "Lanquidity" by Sun Ra - Lanquidity (Evidence)
3) "Bootyreba at the Big House" by John Carter - Fields (Gramavision)
4) "Law Years" by Ornette Coleman - Complete Science Fiction Sessions (Columbia)
5) "Nefertiti" by Circle - Paris Concert (ECM)
6) "The Year of the Elephant" by Wadada Leo Smith - Year of the Elephant (Pi)
7) "Stomp and the Far East Blues" by Roscoe Mitchell - Snurdy McGurdy and Her Dancing Shoes (Nessa)
8) "Acoustic Octofunk" by David Murray - Live at the Village Vanguard (441)
9) "Overture" by Dave Burrell - Windward Passages (Hat Hut)
10) "Pakistani Pomade" by Alexander von Schlippenbach - Pakistani Pomade (Atavistic)
11) "Cell Walk for Celeste" by Cecil Taylor - Complete Candid Recordings (Mosaic)
12) "Is That a Gap?" by Tim Berne - Bloodcount (Screwgun)
13) "Be Op Be Op Be Ah" by Dom Minasi - Time Will Tell (CDM Records)
14) "Peanut" by Sonny Sharrock - Black Woman
15) "Spanish Key" by Miles Davis - That Columbia two-fer that came out about a year or so ago (can remember the name right now! )
16) "Little Pocket Size Demons" by Henry Threadgill - Too Much Sugar for a Dime (Island)
17) "Gee Wee (a.k.a. GW)" by Eric Dolphy - Stockholm Sessions (Enja)
18) "Undulation" by Ken McIntyre - Complete United Artists Sessions (Blue Note)
19) "Mr. 1-2-5 Street" by Jimmy Lyons - The Box Set (Ayler)
20) "Walking Batteriewoman" by Carla Bley - Social Studies (Watt)
21) "Inspiration" by Sam Rivers Rivbea All-Star Orchestra - Inspiration (RCA)
22) "Mikuro's Blues" by David S. Ware - Go See the World (Columbia)
Anyway, thanks for listening, for those who do... we really appreciate the support. Also, while you're over at the website, feel free to register for an account - we should have some promotional giveaways coming up soon, so you might get some FREE MUSIC!!!!! Also, we'd love to see some more people comment on the reviews!
PS. Oh yeah... I should mention that I decided to go ahead and start this one early, so it'll be on from now until tomorrow morning, no matter what the schedule says.

Hey, I'm listening to it right now and really digging it. And thank you for the set list! That is very helpful for me to know what I'm listening to. I really liked "Lanquidity" by Sun Ra. Very cool stuff. Keep up the good work and keep the music coming.

Hehehe... wow, sorry Mark... that's pretty cool to get called out by one of the musicians, though! Just one of those things where you're reading one word and it comes out the fingers another. And anyone who can find it, go buy this album immediately.... Mark's solo on the track listed here kills!
Thanks for listenin.

Okay, so top 2 requests seem to be:
1) Start earlier/keep it on longer
2) Post playlists.
As for #2, we are working on it... gonna try to write a program that will automatically post it to the site as the radio show plays, with links to buy the discs they come from. This should happen within the next couple of weeks.
WRT #1, I have just officially updated the schedule. The shows will now start at 4 PM on the appropriate day, run on their 3 hour loop and keep going late into the night.
Thanks for listening and enjoy!

chuckyd4,
Thanks! I think if you could put up the play lists automatically on the site, that would be very helpful, and the links to buy the disks is also a great idea, except that now I'm going to be tempted too much!

We are now starting these shows at 1pm, still on the 3 hour loop. Hopefully this will catch some of the people at work during the day, or give those in Europe the chance to catch them earlier in the evening.
As this is a Thursday, the show is on right now, if you're interested.
