Keith Jarrett / Gary Peacock / Jack DeJohnette - Always Let Me Go

I see that this recording by K. Jarrett is in the running for an award. I wasn't aware of it's existence until now.
Anyhow, I would appreciate some takes on the cd. Is it comparable to his Whisper Not, Standards Vol.1 cds?
What style predominates: free, straight-ahead, fusion, other?

I apologize if this post appears rambling; that's where my head's at this morning...

It's one of the "free" recordings, and I think, for one, it's relatively patchy, with some good passages but also passages where you have to wait for things to happen. Not one of my favourites.

Thanks for your responses.

I'm a huge fan of all three and the group; even DeJohnette's occasional rowdiness and Jarrett's self indulgence on his original stuff, IMHO.

I think it's brilliant. The intuitive free improv really comes together here, unlike on the prior album, Inside Out, which I found tentative & stiff. No standards here. I think this is one of the best sets by the trio, and DeJohnette really shines. I'm going to see the trio in Newark this Friday.
