Cape Breton Jazz Festival

The organizers of The Cape Breton International Drum Festival announce the full line up for this years Drum Festival being staged at The Savoy Theatre Glace Bay Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia Canada on 26th and 27th April 2003.

"We are very excited to announce that this year we have Legends of Rock, Jazz and New Age Music " Bruce Aitken the Events organizer said.

Aitken announced the line up which includes last years Festival favorite Mr World Drumming Dom Famularo, back by popular demand. He will be joined by living legends including Ndugu Chancler (Miles Davis , Santana) Denny Seiwell (Paul MacCartney and Wings) and Troy Luccketta from the Rock band Tesla (Who are currently recording their latest Cd). This along with Young Turks such as Joe Bergamini (4Front) Camille Gainer , Crash Test Dummie Mitch Dorge and Nelly Furtado's Adrian Passarelli

"There is a definite global feel to this years Festival ' Aitken said "we are very excited that Gustavo Meli from Argentina, The Dalton Drum Syndicate from Belgium and Ganesh Anandan originally from India will also be bringing their new and exciting rhythms to Cape Breton"

There is also a Rising Stars section featuring 10 year old Marcel Bourgeios a Glace Bay native. "The fans will love this, especially the Home town ones" Aitken said.

Rounding off the line up will be the St FX Big Jazz band featuring Ethan Ardelli and Ashley Chambers , and last but not least Elliot Polsky (Zubot and Dawson) .

Add to this the Super Band from LA featuring base guitar Guru Leland Sklar (Phill Collins) Marc Bonilla (Glen Hughes) and Ed Roth (Ronnie Montrose) . This incredible band will perform with both Troy Luccketta and Denny Seiwell.

Said Aitken " This is a not to be missed show, all this talent over one week end, we've not seen anything like it before here on the Island, as Ive said before, When Cape Breton Rocks...The World Rocks!"
