It's a f**king disgrace. Grow up already. Go back to the bench and plan your next touchdown and spare me the cell phone bit.

End zone celebrations: Good or bad?
Commissioner Paul Tagliabue has made it clear that there will be severe fines for elaborate end zone celebrations during the Super Bowl. According to Tagliabue, the coaches and team owners have made it clear to him that they feel it needs to stop. Most players seem less concerned about it.
Are end zone celebrations good for the game, or bad?

Dear Larry,
I'm not taking any calls.
Sprinting toward that end zone,

End zone celebrations are fine, but the cut of that suit is all wrong, and I think you're supposed to wear a shirt and vest underneath, not a Ted Lindsay jersey.

I think end zone celebrations look silly. When the scorer simply drops the ball and runs towards the bench I think it is far more effective. But that's just me. I'm a long time Rams fan going back to Roman Gabriel days. I don't recall a single scorer on any of the Ram teams ever doing that shuffle bullshit.
Perhaps that's why I dislike them. It's always the other team doing the shimmy shammy (or whatever that crap is called).

If they want to end the celebrations, maybe players should no longer be able to genuflect? Seperation of church and sport.....

The Philly Stars of the USFL had a wide receiver named Tom Donovan. When he would catch a TD pass, he would do a somesault in the air and land on his feet. No kidding! He did it all the time. I don't like these end zone celebrations, but I have to admit that I enjoyed seeing Donovan do the somersaults!

If I recall correctly, Flusser's "Clothes and the Man" asserts that "The winged wheel goes with everything."
Blurring the line between selective memory and unqualified fabrication,

Funny, but in my fantasy football league we have generated a series of "beer penalties" (i.e. if a player on your roster is guilty of the infraction, you put a beer in the pool). We have a Warren Sapp penalty (excessive, and disturbing, end zone celebration), a Kurt Warner penalty (excessive, and simplistic, praise given to a deity, who is deemed to be providentially responsible for your superior play but never responsible for your inferior play), a Terrell Owens penalty (use of props in end zone celebration), etc.
I draw the line with props, fwiw.

It's f**king stOOpid.
Football players need to collectively quit acting like spoiled children bent on getting the biggest piece of candy. They look absolutely foolish.
It's embarrassing.
If Ronnie Lott was still in the league, there would BE no end zone dancing shit.
The morons.

OK.
So when I complain about women playing in men's sports on this BBS you'll remember this comment, right?
