And a blue ribbon will be awarded to anyone who can tell us how many of those 3,400 posts have been made outside the Alley...

Of Monte's 3461 posts, 24 of them were not in the Alley.
Now where's my ribbon?

Goody - Pete's all over Jazz Corner, though. Even Dolan gets out of the Alley more than Monte...
Mone - sorry, you'll have to settle for a virtual ribbon...

I think his employer would probably like to hear the answer to that question.
RBS and SS, you guys need an avatar, dammit! Here are a couple of ideas.
Of course, they'd need to be scaled-to-fit.

I like it, RBS! My wife, daughter and grandchildren would heartily approve, as well. Pooh and friends have been an integral part of our family for almost four decades now. Tigger usually does most of the bouncin' though.

Thanks, Ron! Pooh is something special, isn't he? I'm glad to hear your family loves him and his buddies.
If you haven't, take your grandkids to see "The Tigger Movie." We own it and my toddler absolutely loves it.

RBS, I say: lose Pooh. That's all fine for family kiddie time, but this is the goddamn Alley, goddamn it.
My suggestion:

My boy is hardcore addicted to Pooh. He watched Pooh's Christamas about 1000 time when we took our trip to Florida a few weeks back. Thank god for onboard DVD!!
And yes, he has already worn holes in his Tigger Movie DVD.

I think they must put some kind of drug in Pooh and Barney, that stupid purple dinosaur.
Some kind of addictive space drug that flies out of the tv and into their heads.
Now my daughter, at the age of 21 months, has figured out how to fast forward the DVD to get to the parts she wants!

My two monkeys have never been much down with Pooh. They -- 4 years old and 22 months -- like the idea of Pooh, but they only watch a couple of minutes.

RBS, the best avatars are photos of dogs, especially French Bulldogs.
Monte loves politics as much as Pete loves food, Paul B loves Steve Lacy or Steve Reynolds loves Paul Pierce. He belongs in the Alley.

I do recall, however, the occasional Monte post on WAYLT threads. More specifically, I believe I recall the phrase "I loves me some organ jazz."

Well, which is it, Nabob ... Hammond B-3 organ, electric piano, synths, or all of the above? Of course it could be the "old school" Wurlitzer sounds. Nah.
