Forget it. With the help of Ron Thorne, I got the Monk cat on my posts. He's something else, that guy?

Monk cat is the antecedent to "he," because it follows closest. However, Ron Thorne is a very special person.

Not a good assumption, and not a "rule" in English that I know of.

The rationale seems plausible and was well written (whether "rule" or not).

Were you being argumentative or just plain cute?

I just discovered this thread by accident.

Lazy River, Pete's rarely argumentative, per se, but he's often "cute" in his responses. He and SinginSumo are two posters I'm very pleased to call my friends.

Thanks for the kind words, LR. I was delighted to be able to assist in providing "Monk" a properly-sized space. I well remember flailing about myself, and not that long ago, either.

Pete and SinginSumo, please meet one of my newest online friends, and a dedicated friend of jazz for decades ... Lazy River.
