L'europa Jazz Festival 2004

Currently, the site is in French only, but finding your way around is quite easy, concerts-dates gives you the schedule.

Highlights for me are: Fred Anderson Trio, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Peter Brotzmann Chicago Tentet, Vandermark 5, Anthony Braxton solo, lots of Louis Sclavis duos as well as Daunik Lazro and a solo set by Wilbert de Joode.

If you're planning to attend and would want to hook up, let me know (as I'd want to).

Merde, French only... but artists are great. Where is this festival? Paris? I just moved to Spain so it would be great to visit L´europa Jazz Festival.

The halls are all in, or in close vicinity, of Le Mans, about 250kms from where I live. Once again, I'm a bit of a lazy chap to go there alone but if anyone's interested, I *am* looking for people to go together with.

hermann - yes, moers seems to have some interesting acts as well. If I can schedule my work nicely I might try to make it to a couple of those.

I invite You to sleep at my home. It's only about 50 km from Moers. What do You think?

Hermann,

That is very kind and generous of you. I sent you a lengthy PM on the matter.

Wow, I too hope to go to the Moers fest, this year's program is really strong!
Do you people by any chance know their camping - is it possible to stay with my own tent there?

Sasha.

The Moers website says:

That means: camping is free beside the festival from friday 10 a clock till tuesday 10 a clock. In a nearby schoolhall one can get a sleeping place for 1€ per night.
Hope that helps.

Hermann,

Do you not check your private messages or was it something I said?

So, I'll be getting the tickets tomorrow (I hope they haven't run out of them) for the 6th and 7th evening shows, which include Vandermark 5, Brotzmann Chicago Tentet, and Mujician.

If anyone else is going to make those shows or be around in Le Mans those two days let me know. spekkola is coming, too.

I'm looking forward to the shows, the Tentet in particular. They better be good as I'm letting go of a little more than two days with only a month left before my comps.
