Mp3 and CFM files?

I recently bought an CD by the Canadian band Ox. Included is a free album's worth of songs to be downloaded off the net. I now have all the tracks on my PC, however, some of them downloaded as MP3s and the rest are CFM files. I am not particular familiar with this technology and was wondering If I burned these songs to CD, will both filetypes work in a standard CD player, or will I need to change the file extension to suit the standard CD format?

Thanks in advance.

For the mp3s, you'll have to convert them to .wav, then burn them. This is down through software, not just by changing the extension. A program that converts mp3s to audio CDs automatically that I like is Ashampoo's AudioCD MP3 Suite. It's free.

The CFMs are odd because that's the extension for Coldfusion files, if I'm not mistaken. Those are dynamic web files, nothing to do with audio at all.

I could be wrong, but don't most burning programs do the mp3 -> .wav conversion automatically these days?

Probably. iTunes does this (and is free), but I've had skipping problems on my DVD player and computer (but not on my stereo) with iTunes mp3->wav CDs, whereas I haven't had this problem with Ashampoo.

Thanks folks, I was a bit confused by the CFM files too. However, that's what they are and media player will play them after a nag screen.
