IAJE accepting applications for 2005

IAJE is currently accepting clinic, school group, professional performance,
and technology proposal submissions for the 2005 Long Beach Conference.
Through a new partnership with Sonicbids.com IAJE also welcomes the
Electronic Press Kit (EPK) submission option from all professional
performance artists.

To be considered, all proposals must be received by April 10, 2004. You
may obtain a proposal application by going to
<http://www.iaje.org/ac_select.asp>www.iaje.org/ac_select.asp or contacting
IAJE at 785-776-8744 or e-mail
info@iaje.org. Proposal applications are also
published in the January, and March 2004 issues of the Jazz Education
Journal.

The annual IAJE conference is the largest annual gathering of the global
jazz community, with over 6,000 attendees from 40 countries. With
education at center stage, the Conference provides a forum for professional
development, teacher training, scholarly exchange, and showcases the
talents of outstanding student and professional ensembles.

IAJE Announces 2004 ASCAP/ IAJE Commissions

Sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers
(ASCAP) and IAJE, each year the ASCAP/IAJE Commissions recognizes one
emerging and one established composer in the jazz idiom for outstanding
compositional achievements. Winners receive a commission fee and an
expense paid trip to the 2005 Long Beach Conference to premier their work.

Applications can be obtained from the November, January, and March issues
of the Jazz Educators Journal, on the IAJE website at
(www.iaje.org/projects.asp#commissions) or by contacting the IAJE office at
(785.776.8744).
In celebration of the 100th year anniversary and legacy of Count Basie,
this year's commission deadline is April 1, 2004
