Take a Ride on the A Train!

Just put up the latest review on my site, The A Train. This week's review is of the Yusef Lateef album The Sounds of Yusef. On this 1957 album, Lateef utilizes Indian and Chinese instruments on five standards and originals. Check it out, along with other reviews of classic jazz albums for the novice jazz listener at http://nicholas_bruner.tripod.com/th...ain/index.html.

New Review

Check out the new review on my website for jazz novices, The A Train! This week I review John Coltrane's Giant Steps, the first album to receive the grade of A+. While you're there, you might like to take a look at the archives of novice-friendly reviews of other jazz and fusion albums.

Coming up next week: a glossary of jazz terms, especially for those new to jazz music.

Find it all at http://nicholas_bruner.tripod.com/the_a_train/

Just getting started and don't know what to listen to? Or perhaps you're a more experienced listener and want to see what another considers to be some of the most basic albums? Check it out at http://nicholas_bruner.tripod.com/!

I've fallen behind for a couple weeks, but finally got the latest review up on my site. This week it's the Mahavishnu Orchestra's Birds of Fire, the finest fusion album from the best fusion group of the 1970s!

And after you read the review, stick around at the A Train to see the other reviews and features available for novice jazz listeners.
