Dr. Barry Harris 2004 Lenten Piano Invitational

In what promises to be one of the most powerful, beautiful and engaging
concerts of the year, The Dr. Barry Harris 2004 Lenten Piano
Invitational, 100 Fingers in Praise, will present a free concert on
Friday, April 2, from 7 p.m., at Concord Baptist Church of Christ in
Brooklyn, when Dr. Barry Harris hosts 10 great jazz pianists in a soiree
of piano solos, duets and trios.

Participating artists are: Ed Stoute, Pete Malinverni, Orlando Fiol,
Rodney Kendrick, Dick Katz, Joseph Joubert, Richard Wyands, Richard
Clements, Jane Jarvis and Bertha Hope. Leroy Williams will be on
percussion and Earl Ma will be on bass.

This magnificent night of music is being presented by The Concord
Baptist Church of Christ, Rev. Dr. Gary Simpson, Senior Pastor, and The
Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium. The Church is located at: 833 Rev. Dr.
Gardner C. Taylor Blvd/Marcy Ave (bet. Putnam and Madison) - (718)
622-1818.

Although this performance is free, for those who wish to make a
contribution, a free will offering will be taken at the concert.



Directions:
By Train: From Manhattan, take the A train to Nostrand Avenue. When you
go out of the station, cross the street to Fulton, continue walking down
Nostrand (away from the LIRR station) to Putnam. Take a Right onto
Putnam, walk one block to Concord Baptist Church of Christ.

By car: From the BQE, take Atlantic Ave all the way to New York /Ave.
Take a Left onto New York Ave, continue 2 blocks to Fulton (New York
Ave ends). Continue one block on Fulton, take a quick Left onto Marcy
(you’ll see a Burger King), continue 5 or 6 blocks to Concord Baptist
Church of Christ.
