Al Mouzon

What's up with Al Mouzon? Where's he?`

I always loved his stuff, especially -The Man Incognito- and -In search of a Dream-, I also remember the funk viesta on Herbie's -Just around the corner- on the -Magic hands- album.

It seems that he's been doing more Smooth Jazz stuff the last couple of years. I think I heard a quite funky record of his own of the early 80s called -By any means- or something like that.

great player!! And those hats!!!

Don't know what's up with him, but he'll always find a soft spot in my heart for his incredible work on Tyner's spectacular "Sahara".

I also liked his work on Tyner's -Enlightment-Suite- album a lot.Very powerful and supportive of this high energy music.
Thanks for the link. Checked it out and it seems that he only has been doing lite jazz since the 80s at least as leader.
Has anyone heard his 2001 release -Live in Hollywood- ? Is it any good?
The euorope tour with Ernie Watts last year sounds good.
I wonder why I never managed to check Al out in concert.

I wonder if he will ever be up there again playing with heavyweights.

My favorite Tyner album, and Azar Lawrence's finest minute.
