searching for: Ganelin Trio, Semplice (Melodiya)

Listening folk,

Are Melodiya Records (the Soviet state-run enterprise) reissued anywhere? I'm looking for a copy of the Ganelin Trio's 1984 album Semplice to round out a radio presentation. If they're long out of print, is there anyone who would let us pay for shipping to borrow their LP? Or, could you dub a copy?

For those interested, the Ganelin Trio Orgy will be on WHRB (in Boston or via www.whrb.org) in May, along with Mingus, Andrew Hill, Ives, the New York School, IRCAM, to name a few.

Many thanks.
Ryan

Ryan, I assume you know this already, but the man to talk to for all things Ganelin-related is Leo Feigin.

Hi Ryan,
Most of Ganelin-Tarasov-Chekasin recordings and Tarasov's solo stuff on Melodya were reissued on CD by Lithuanian label SONORE in 1995 (except the first "Atto", which was reissued as well, but a different take). I believe they're out of print anyway. Actually, I have a CD of Semplice as well as several other ex-Melodyan GTCh albums, but I'm on the other side of the globe PM me if you are interested, let's see what we can arrange.

Sasha.

All Ganelin Trio's Melodya LPs were re-released in 1995 on the Lithuanian Sonore label. The label also has tons of CDs by drummer Vladimir Tarasov - some of them are excellent. Sonore seems to be defunct now, but a Google search led me to Verge Music where I found a comprehensive listing. They still may have those titles in stock.

Addendum: Did not see sashabur's post when I submitted mine...
