Charlie Hunter in NYC!

Charlie Hunter will be playing Knitting Factory's Tap Bar tonight, April 12th, Tuesday, April 13th, and Wednesday, April 14th. Don't miss his performance in this intimate setting. Also playing will be Bobby Previte. For more information, please visit www.knittingfactory.com.

It will be a great show!

Too bad it's at the tap bar. I've been meaning to catch them. I think it'll have a different vibe than Hunter's more jam bandy trio. But no way I'm going to the tap bar.

Some places have a quiet policy, right? They have a loud policy.

I saw Charlie Hunter a couple of years ago in Anchorage at a theatre/pub, and it was a perfect environment for what Charlie does best. The audience was respectful, though not shy, and Charlie and his trio engaged us full-on, at times almost unmercifully. I had a nice chat with Charlie and his drummer, Stephen Chopek* afterwards. Lovely.

* Stephen was playing a very unique drum kit, which was fascinating to watch and hear him play.
